Small-scale topology of solar atmosphere dynamics I. Wave sources and wave diffraction

چکیده
We study the small-scale topology of dynamical phenomena in the quiet-sun internetwork atmosphere, using short-duration Fourier analysis of high-resolution filtergram sequences to obtain statistical estimates for the co-location probability of different fine-structure elements and wave modes. In this initial paper we concentrate on the topology of shortduration Fourier amplitude maps for the photosphere and the simultaneously observed overlying chromosphere. We find that these maps portray a complex mix of global modes and locally excited waves which necessitates a statistical approach. Various aspects including mesoscale patterning indicate the presence of subsurface wave sources and of subsurface wave diffraction by convective inhomogeneities.

متن کاملWave Propagation Analysis of CNT Reinforced Composite Micro-Tube Conveying Viscose Fluid in Visco-Pasternak Foundation Under 2D Multi-Physical Fields
In this research, wave propagation analysis in polymeric smart nanocomposite micro-tubes reinforced by single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) conveying fluid is studied. The surrounded elastic medium is simulated by visco-Pasternak model while the composite micro-tube undergoes electro-magneto-mechanical fields. By means of micromechanics method, the constitutive structural coefficients of nano...
متن کاملMedium- to large-scale density variability as observed by CHAMP
[1] Atmospheric density accounts for the largest source of error for predicting low-Earth orbiting satellite positions. Relevant applications include catalog maintenance, collision avoidance, and mission design. In this paper we quantify density model errors due to density variability at submodel grid spatial scales. Densities in the 370--450 km height region inferred from accelerometer measure...

The large and small Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) and mini-CMEs are observed by the Extreme Ultra Violet Imager (EUVI) on the Solar Terrestrial Relation Observatory (STEREO). These eruption events are usually associated with dimming and wave-like brightenings. Here, the images of the full sun on 26 Apr 2008 with STEREO spacecraft (behind) with the cadences of 10 minutes and 150 seconds and pix...
متن کاملSignatures of emerging subsurface structures in the Sun
The complex dynamics that lead to the emergence of active regions on the Sun are poorly understood. One possibility is that magnetic structures (flux tubes, etc.) rise from below the surface by self induction and convection that lead to the formation of active regions and sunspots on the solar surface. For space weather forecasting, one would like to detect the subsurface structures before they...
